REC Equine Specialists recently made the remarkable move, relocating to a state-of-the-art facility in western Sydney immediately adjacent to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) at Horsley Park.  After extensive national and international research, the new hospital complex was expertly designed and built in 2020.  This cutting-edge hospital operates around the clock, offering routine, referral and 24/7 emergency services to clients and referring veterinarians.

The facility is equipped with pioneering diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.  The practices extensive years of experience have resulted in a thoughtfully designed and conveniently located equine centre that has not only enhanced our capability to provide unparalleled veterinary services but has also improved the client experience.

 Facilities

  • We have dedicated loading and unloading facilities designed for the safe and easy transport of your horse. We can accommodate all vehicles from a car and float to semi-trailers.

  • Our hospital has 3 designated areas for lameness exams. Offering a safe environment to diagnose the source and severity of lameness in our patients.

  • In addition to routine stables and day yards, the facility includes a state-of-the-art intensive care unit.

  • Our hospital is equipped with

    • CT scanner (computed tomography)

    • Scintigraphy (bone scan)

    • Video-endoscopy (upper airway and gastric)

    • Digital radiography

    • Ultrasonography

  • REC Equine Specialists in house laboratory provides rapid results for both in-patient and off-site clients.

  • Our hospital currently has four surgical theatres, including a purpose-built facility for standing surgical procedures. The theatres are equipped for a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standard of care during operations.

  • Our comfortable and pleasant dedicated client and owner space, where you can relax and enjoy refreshments, is also equipped with a viewing window into a surgical suite to allow you the option to observe surgical procedures if desired.
